The colourful festivals of India are an integral part of the life of its people. They are the symbols of the rich cultural heritage of this diverse land. Each unique festival is a celebration of great significance, where India comes alive in its fascinating best. Keeping these ethe in our mind, the Department of Library celebrated Book Week from August 24-27th 2021 for classes I-XII. Various activities related to same were conducted such as Book Mark activity for grades I&II, ‘Design your Cover Page’ organized for students of class III whereas in classes IV-XII students were briefed about the major festivals of India like national, cultural, harvesting and tribal festivals of different states & the stories behind them. Students enjoyed the activities &information shared during their Library sessions. They learned that festivals bring us closer and eliminate any feelings of communal hatred. Further, they strengthen the bonds of the community and remove the malice from people’s hearts. Therefore, festivals are quite important and must be celebrated with passion.
