DESCRIPTION:K2 Sustainability Champions\n“The environment is where we all meet\, where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.” – Lady Bird Johnson\n  \nEarth Day\, observed worldwide on April 22\, was celebrated with enthusiasm and creativity by the Grade K2 students at DPS\, GBN\, under the theme “Sustainability Champions.“ The day began with a vibrant parade\, where the children proudly showcased placards promoting awareness of environmental concerns. This was followed by an energetic dance performance\, through which they expressed their admiration and respect for nature. The students then enjoyed a fun-filled scavenger hunt\, collecting natural items such as leaves and stones\, deepening their connection with the environment. Following this\, they crafted beautiful folders from collected waste leaves\, turning simple materials into meaningful artwork. Several students amazed everyone with their creative costumes made entirely from recycled materials. Through these hands-on activities\, the children learned valuable lessons about reusing\, respecting nature\, and making sustainable choices to protect the future of our planet. It was a truly enriching and memorable experience for all. \n

As a group activity\, the students created photo frames using old cardboard boxes\, dry flowers\, and dry leaves. They discovered that waste can be repurposed in creative ways. Additionally\, the students participated in an individual leaf-pasting activity\, where children used leaves to craft a unique art\, expressing their creativity with enthusiasm and joy. The children were enthusiastic and inventive. These activities helped them appreciate the importance of nature while learning small ways to care for the Earth. Through this experience\, they realized how minor actions can make a significant difference for the planet. Such efforts help them develop into responsible and caring individuals. \n

They gained a comprehensive understanding of the 5 R’s—Reduce\, Reuse\, Recycle\, Refuse\, and Repurpose and their role in reducing the environmental impact of single-use plastics\, wrappers\, and other waste materials. The students were introduced to the concept of waste management through hands-on experience with colour-coded dustbins\, which provided them with a practical understanding of the different methods of waste disposal. Culminating the week-long initiative\, the students took an oath to conserve water. This experience successfully instilled a sense of responsibility and sustainability among the young learners\, empowering them to become conscious citizens. \n

It offered students a deeper understanding of biodiversity\, conservation\, and the power of technology in research. \nThe museum visit included a guided tour of the art gallery\, engaging discussions\, and a chance to interact with renowned art patron Ms. Kiran Nadar. Students were also honored to meet Ms. Maya\, an ambassador from Switzerland\, who shared her insights on global conservation efforts. \nAn interactive\, hands-on activity added a creative touch to the day—students closed their eyes\, imagined an animal\, and then sketched it\, inspired by their reflections on the exhibit. \nThe visit was not only educational but also inspired students to think critically about the environment\, wildlife protection\, and the role of art in creating awareness. It was a memorable learning experience that beautifully combined creativity\, science\, and global citizenship.

DESCRIPTION:Book Week and Meet the Author\n  \nDPS\, GBN celebrated Book Week; Meet the Author event for middle and senior school students with great enthusiasm and fervor from April 21-25\, 2025. \nThe recently concluded Book Week was a resounding success\, featuring an engaging “Meet the Author” session that captivated students and fostered a deeper appreciation for literature. \nEsteemed authors Ms Mona Verma\, Mr Srijan Pal Singh\, Ms Anupama Jain\, Mr Vikramjit Singh Roopari graced the event sharing insights into their works and the world of storytelling. \nMeet your author \n1. Mr. Vikramjit Singh Roopari- Young and ignited minds interacted with sir and he introduced them to the rich history of Delhi\, like step wells of Delhi and Lal Quila. His interactive sessions highlighted the significance of preserving the historical sites. \n2. Ms. Anupama Jain- She captivated the audience with her storytelling prowess and a beautiful smile. Shared insight of her own journey from posting content on social media to writing short stories\, novels and many more. \n3. Mr. Srijan Pal Singh- An author and innovation expert\, inspired students with his insight on the theory of Matter and Antimatter\, Formation of Black holes and other related topics. He also encouraged students to ask questions and then patiently replied to each query. \n4. Ms. Mona Singh- An acclaimed author known for her evocative narrations engaged students with her writing journey and her book Banaras. Senior students felt overwhelmed after her session. \nFollowing the interactive session\, a book signing event took place in the school library where students had the opportunity to get their copies signed by the author. These sessions not only enhanced the literary knowledge of our students but also inspired them to pursue their own creative endeavors.

The MX RYLA Runway introduced the Organizing Committee\, followed by an engaging DJ Night and dinner. \nDay 2: Sports\, Seminar & Mystery Challenges \nThe day started with Zumba and sports events\, followed by the RYLA X Conference led by Mr. Pankaj Asija on peak performance. Students took part in the Mystery Mansion Challenges\, including the Escape Room\, Treasure Hunt\, and Relay Rumble. A stand-up comedy session provided a refreshing break\, and the day ended with the MX RYLA Runway Ramp Walk and an energetic DJ Night. \nDay 3: Farewell & Closing Ceremony \nThe final day of ENIGMA began with check-out and breakfast\, followed by the Closing Ceremony. Awards were presented for various competitions\, and the Organizing Committee received special appreciation. A recap video highlighted key moments of the event. \nBefore departure\, participants took group photos and exchanged goodbyes\, marking the end of a memorable experience.

DESCRIPTION:QAWWALI PERFORMANCE BY NIZAMI SULTAN JI BROTHERS AT DPS\, GBN\n  \nDelhi Public School Gautam Buddh Nagar Chapter of SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) organised a melodious Qawwali performance by Nizami Sultan Ji Brothers on Wednesday\, May 07\, 2025\, in the School’s Tagore Auditorium. \nThe audience witnessed a riveting performance by Nizami Sultan Ji Brothers- Azam Nizami and Nazim Nizami- the eminent Qawwali Singers of Hapur Gharana and legendary Qawwals from the venerated Dargah Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (RA). They have been the bearers of the 700-year-oldtradition of qawwali to this day. \nThe event was graced by Ms Reva Nayyar\, Pro Vice Chairperson of the School and Ms Saraswati Subbu\, Chairperson and State Coordinator for the Delhi NCR chapter. The Ustads and their group comprising Faizan ji on the Tabla\, Mahroz ji (back-up singer) and Chand ji (Banjo player)\, made the programme truly memorable. \nWith renditions of timeless classics and spiritually uplifting compositions\, the artists transported the audience to a realm of devotion and transcendence. The lemonade activity was the most interesting activity of the day\, as the children enjoyed making and drinking this healthy drink.

The Students were briefed in their classrooms on the importance of staying alert and being prepared at all times. They were instructed to pay close attention to warning sirens and to protect themselves effectively by taking cover under their desks or against the walls while shielding their heads. The teachers assisted students during the drill\, while following all safety protocols themselves. This exercise aimed to equip them with safety skills and to respond calmly in any emergency.

Grade IV enjoyed a Nature Walk and explored the School’s beautiful gardens and flora. Students of Grade V came together and made a Slogan chain. They proudly showcased their work. The celebration encouraged and sensitized the children towards planting more trees. Indeed\, trees have supported and sustained life throughout our existence and our children should be taught to nurture the nature for a better future. \n

These nutritious\, no-sugar drinks not only quenched their thirst but also taught them important lessons about healthy food choices. As they mixed ingredients\, shared their drinks\, and enjoyed the tasty results\, they gained a better understanding of healthy beverages. This fun\, hands-on activity reinforced healthy eating habits and supported SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being. It also encouraged creativity and practical learning\, making nutrition education enjoyable and memorable for the students.

DESCRIPTION:IPN Academy Teacher Conclave 2025\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are proud to share that Ms. Nidhi Jaggi\, Head of the Computer Science department and Examination Head at Delhi Public School\, GBN\, represented our school as a panelist at the prestigious IPN Academy Teacher Conclave 2025\, held virtually on July 11\, 2025. \nThe theme of the panel discussion was: \n“From Instruction to Co-Creation: Teachers as Designers in AI-Augmented Learning Environments.” \nMs. Jaggi shared valuable insights on how Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the role of educators—from traditional instructors to flexible mentors\, critical thinkers\, and learning designers. She emphasized the importance of teacher training and continuous upskilling\, aligning her views with the vision outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. \nDrawing from her experience in AI-integrated classrooms\, Ms. Jaggi illustrated how tools like AR and AI are used in her teaching practice. She also highlighted the importance of teaching students to critically evaluate AI-generated content\, instead of using it as a shortcut to avoid thinking. \nHer contribution to the panel highlighted the school’s commitment to innovation\, technology integration\, and future-ready learning. \nWe congratulate Ms. Jaggi on this remarkable achievement and are proud to have her represent DPS GBN on such a forward-looking national platform.
